My Girl

5'11 It seems as if it was just a week ago when I brought her home from Jackson Parish Hospital all dressed up in her blue dress with red little flowers. Yellow as hell! Well, now she is holding her own identity on the basketball court and loving it. I can't not express how proud I am of her and choosing the right decisions in her life. I will tell you a little decision she made. She was at Winnfield Middle School. Cheer leading and playing basketball, popular with the crowds because of the status in which cheer leading has afforded shy children who meets up to the status of cheer leading. She cheered with a small voice and a great smile. She played basketball with all her heart and soul. She came to me after the season was over and said, "Moma, I don't want to be a cheerleader anymore. Next, year I want to concentrate on my basketball." I asked her why she had came up with this decision and she looked me in the eye and said I can get a free education doing something that I love hopefully. Well, its years later and she been to AAU's National for age 15 and under for the last 2 years. This now 14 year old has been playing with girls older than her and more experience but to look on the court the advantage is not so easily seen. Motherhood is wonderful for moments like these I hope young mothers will have some of the same joys I have experience with raising my children.

We are all proud of her. I know I am. She has chosen what makes her happy. She can make a career out of it. It is always good to find something to be passionate about.
